one thing I know

It started out as a normal day in every way...but that afternoon, words fell on my ears that changed my life forever.

For the first time, I didn't know if God really cared about me at all.

Months went by, full of pain, anger, confusion, and hurt. I didn't know what I believed about anything. I just felt dead inside.

Then, one summer evening, we took the long way home from church, which usually annoys me because it takes so long to get home...but not that night. The sun was setting. The air was balmy. All the windows were down as we drove slowly over the narrow gravel roads. The kids were all so quiet. The cornfields stretched out, a sea of green and gold, and as I drank in every detail of that perfect, perfect evening, I slowly realized I was reading a love note from God Himself. It was written in the purple clouds, on the green-and-gold fields, and on the faces of my children. Just one thing I knew for sure: He loves me. He really does.
